Test Label Print
Generate sample 100×75mm labels for your ZDesigner ZD421-203dpi ZPL printer.
Step 1: Minimal ZPL Test (diagnose printer mode)
The simplest possible label — just "TEST LABEL" in a box. Use this first to confirm your ZD421 is in ZPL mode and receiving raw bytes.
- If it prints "TEST LABEL" → ZPL is working. The nesting labels will print correctly when sent raw.
- If it prints the ^XA ^FO… characters → the printer is in line-print mode OR the file is being sent through a text/Windows print path. Send it raw via Zebra Setup Utility → "Open Communication With Printer" → paste → Send.
